7 April | NIRS | Grandmothers to protest NSW child protection system

A Brisbane-based Murri grandmother says she’ll travel to the New South Wales town of Tamworth to support a protest against the state’s child protection system.

The Grandmothers Against Removals will protest at the local Department of Family and Community Services office on Friday against the high rates of removals.

Aunty Karen Fusi (pictured) from the Brisbane Aboriginal Sovereign Embassy says she’s been through the courts to gain custody of her grandkids and is concerned child services are too quick to remove kids from family.
